Car Hauler trailer plans with Drive-Over Fenders. While this trailer is similar in length, strength, and capacity to our other 12K Car Hauler, the increased width and drive-over feature make it quite different. Yes, it is wider, 8.5′, with permanent, strong fenders so wide stance vehicles can drive up and over them.
Like the other, this 12,000 lbs trailer includes a robust I-Beam design for great strength while keeping the deck height low. The 10,400 lbs option (with smaller tires) will reduce deck height even more.
This one is for wide stance vehicles like built jeeps, 4×4’s, dually trucks, wide tractors, and more. These drive-over trailer trailer plans are a complete design, with full engineering so the trailer performs. The fenders are partly from sheet steel cut with tabs and slots so everything aligns for strength and ease. Plans include all the CNC files, with instructions, to build with confidence. Just send the files to a vendor, then go pick up the parts. It is an easy way to build both strong and accurate.
A trailer from these plans will carry your car, truck, tractor, Jeep, side-by-side, or equipment, and more. Read more in this article about Car Haulers with Drive Over Fenders.

Afterall, that’s what it is build for.
These plans start with the same solid I-Beam base frame as our other 12K Car Hauler. Also, most of the same trailer options to make it the way you want. Use options in the plans, or add your own, so it fits your needs.

* Trailer load capacity depends on all the parts and materials, as well as the craftsmanship in building. All Mechanical Elements trailers are engineered to perform as stated when built as defined with proper care in construction – including parts, material, construction techniques, weld integrity, assembly methods, and finishing. Capacity for this trailer also requires proper choices for parts such as the hitch, axle(s), wheels, tires, safety chain, decking, bolts, pins, etc. Please make sure component load capacities match or exceed the trailer total capacity. Do not exceed manufacturers limits.
For trouble-free trailer life, think care and safety. Please select fastening methods to handle how and where the trailer will operate – including vibration, proper fastener types, bolt grades, torques, and nut types (like lock nuts). Then, be smart about loading the trailer, load distribution, tire pressure, tire condition and the mechanics of towing. We want you safe to enjoy your trailer for a long time ahead. Always use proper safety and securing equipment when loading and towing a trailer.
